I love IKEA and IKEA loves me

Check out my new IKEA commercials at:

http://www.enamoratemasdetuhogar.com/video_3.html

http://www.enamoratemasdetuhogar.com/video_4.html

The first one features Andre Rodriguez, who also happened to be in the Queens Theatre in the Park production of Anna in the Tropics I did a while back. It was so awesome to work with him again.

For the second commercial I got to work with two amazing kids. The fighting you see on the couch lasted for hours, as we did takes from different angles. Their energy was limitless.

For several takes the director asked me to say anything I wanted (instead of the translation of "Someone has to go to their room"), so I said "Los voy a mandar a la porra" -- it's something a lot of Latin American parents say when you're in trouble. One of the production guys laughed so hard and called his dad to ask what it was. Apparently it's like the equivalent of sending you to "Siberia"...

helping out the bridezillas of the world

Even though the average cost of an American wedding starts at about $20,000, I just recorded eight TV VO spots for cable & phone packages* offering brides the chance to save a little cash every month. You could take the money you save and order some bridal magazines, purchase gas to go shopping, and/or get some fun books like Wedding Goddess or One Perfect Day. But I digress. If you want to check out a few of the commercials that feature mi voz en espanol, one can be found here, and another here. Or you can just visit my website at www.susanstewartnyc.com and click on Voiceover, then Bridezillas!

*I actually have the package and you really do save a lot on phone bills!

six degrees of choose your own adventure: web debuts

The latest episode of Six Degrees is available at http://www.abc.com/. I'm in a pivotal scene with Campbell Scott! Click on "watch ABC shows" -- when you get to the viewer, you can choose Six Degrees, then the episode called 5/18/07 "Objects in the Mirror". My scene starts after three commercial breaks. You can scroll to the 30 minute mark to see it if you'd like. I play the "Kissing Woman".

The other Susie Stewart web appearance is on the new girlie show, http://www.mimiandflo.com/. It's a choose-your-own-adventure journey about quirky roommates in NYC. If you go to the home page and click on "Episodes", I'm in the thread called "Hot Mitts". I play "Mitzy".

rise & shine! on the weekends

"With Mothers Like These" is a new "mono-drama" by playwright Nora Glickman which I'll be interpreting this Sunday afternoon (4/15) on W16th Street. Also just recorded a voiceover over the weekend for a European commercial (of course must not disclose anymore until it's released).

There's no such thing as a day off!

baking soda babies

Played a "Rachael Ray" type at auditions recently - had a callback for an Arm & Hammer internet commercial. We all know I'm already pretty perky and bubbly - and to be asked to raise it a few notches? It was like Susan Stewart on five cups of coffee (or chai or thai iced tea). When I finally met the clients, they did ask for it to be toned down again, and were glad the adjustment was seamless.
